We've broken ground!

We are thrilled to announce that ground has been broken on Project Home!

This LEED certified, sustainable development will provide a space for permanent housing, basic needs, health, education, and workforce development services for more than 3500 women in poverty each year.  Our most sincere thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far!

We are proud to report that despite the floundering economy we have received pledges of more than $32 million toward our $35 million goal, including a $1 million challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation, provided we meet our goal by May 31, 2010.  DWC has long been a model for organizations serving homeless women throughout the US, and your donation will further solution-based approaches on Skid Row and nation-wide.
