Project Home is DWC’s dramatic
expansion to:
- increase Day Center services by 75%
- increase housing by 158%
- open downtown’s first medical and mental health clinic for
uninsured women
- launch an innovative social enterprise —all in a LEED-Certified green rennovated historical
building!
Our grand opening is set for
December—more details to come—and here are some updates on our
progress in the meantime:
·Construction:
Progressing smoothly and on schedule. We have recently finished the
rehabilitation of the historic façade, and the restoration of the
historic windows. Walls are going up, the interior spaces are coming to
life, and the garden room and rooftop garden are taking shape. (Click

Lipstick, Inc.!)
·Programs:
DWC Programs are also gearing up for our move and expansion. Several
new staff members were recently hired to launch and implement our
expanded programs at the same level of quality service on which we have
always prided ourselves.
·Capital Campaign:
DWC has raised $32.6 million towards our $35 million Capital Campaign
goal. If we can raise the remaining amount by November 30, 2010, the
Kresge Foundation will give us $1 million!
