In the community spirit of the holidays, DWC encourages you to invite a
friend to volunteer with you for the holidays, give a donation in a
loved one’s name such as $75 to cover one woman’s full gift, or bring
food with you when you come to drop off gift donations or volunteer.
Volunteer for the Holidays
There is a lot to be thankful for this year at DWC and we will certainly
be celebrating. There will be food, crafts, karaoke, and plenty of fun!

Kwanzaa Celebration (December 26th-31st)
Celebrate the seven principles of African culture with us! We will be
celebrating Kwanzaa throughout the week and will need your help
celebrating by creating Kwanzaa mats!
Tuesday, December 28th, Time: 1:30pm-3:30pm
New Year’s Eve and Day
We’ll be ringing in the New Year with food, crafts, and good cheer. Join
us as we welcome 2011!
First Shift: 8:30am-11:30am
Second Shift: 11:30am-2:30pm

1. What should I donate?
Please refer to our on-line

Target.com wish lists to purchase donations that will come
directly to us. Purchases here are specifically chosen to match the
lady’s preferences and chosen color schemes. If you are dropping off
donations, please use these lists as guide!
2. Where should I drop off food and gift donations?
To coordinate a drop off, contact Allison Bamberg, Volunteer Department
Associate, Volunteer@DWCweb.org,
(213) 680-0600. All donations can be dropped off at the Day Center
during operating hours from 9am to 4pm. Other arrangements can be made
as necessary.
3. Can my group come volunteer/run a drive/gift collection?
Absolutely! We can help with planning and promotion as required. Please
