2002 Gala: There's No
Place Like Home
On October 7, 2002 The Dorothy Chandler sparkled with generosity during
DWC’s Annual Gala Event.
Honored for their impact on women's lives were remarkable individuals
from among DWC's circle of supporters --
Leticia
Aguilar, an executive with Bank of America, and Carolyn Williams,
manager of community relations at Sempra Energy.
The
power of individuals to create positive change on a daily baisis is
exemplified both by the generosity of our honorees and by our Angel
Award recipient, Mitchell Netburn, Executive Director of Los Angeles
Housing Services Authority and long-time volunteer groups from the
parishes of American Martyrs, St. Cyril of Jerusalem and St. John
Fisher.
Among the evening's highlights -- an exciting live auction was presided
over by Lisa Hubbard of Sotheby’s, who graciously donated her
professional services for a fourth year. Special Thanks also to Gala
co-chairs Susan Diamond and Julie Withers, and to Christina Haadley for
design of the event invitation, and to volunteers from Sidley Austin
Brown & Wood for their hard work toward making this event special.
A special round of applause to our Sponsors! Special appreciation, as
well, to Jim Simmons for video production
and
to all who attended the event and helped to make this night a success!
